Privacy Policy

How my9albums.app handles browser storage, public collections, cookies, analytics, and your privacy choices.

Who this policy covers

This policy describes information processed when you use my9albums.app, an independent album poster tool. You can use the editor without creating an account or providing an email address.

Drafts and browser storage

The editor stores your selected albums, poster text, and design settings in your browser’s local storage under nine-albums-v1. Your preferred language is stored under my9albums-language. These values remain until you clear the site’s browser data or replace them through the editor. Clearing them removes your local draft and preferences.

The poster image is generated in your browser. Opening the finished poster’s download and sharing dialog also automatically uploads the collection to prepare a public share link, even if you never copy or publish the link. Album searches and artwork requests involve the services described below.

Public sharing and community rankings

When you open the finished poster’s download and sharing dialog, we automatically prepare a public share link and store a snapshot of your albums, poster title, name or handle, and design settings on Cloudflare infrastructure, together with a share identifier and creation time. Anyone with the link can view it; public pages may be indexed by search engines or copied by others. Do not include confidential information or personal details you do not want to publish.

Shared snapshots are separate from your local draft and do not automatically change when you edit or clear that draft. Shared collections remain stored until removed; there is currently no automatic expiry or self-service deletion. Contact us with the share URL to request removal. Copies downloaded or retained by others are outside our control.

Album selections submitted while preparing a public share link contribute to community rankings. We use a randomly generated album-voter cookie, set for up to one year and refreshed on visits, to avoid counting the same browser’s selection repeatedly. The server stores this identifier with selected album IDs. Clearing the cookie does not delete previously stored selection records.

Analytics and technical information

The production site uses Google Analytics to understand visits and usage. Google Analytics can use cookies and process information about pages visited, interactions, browser and device details, and approximate location. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Cloudflare hosts and protects the site and processes network information such as IP addresses, request URLs, timestamps, and browser headers to deliver requests, maintain security, and diagnose errors. Our application may log technical errors. Information may be processed in countries other than your own.

Search, artwork, and external services

Search terms are sent through our server to MusicBrainz. Album identifiers and artwork requests may be sent to Cover Art Archive, Internet Archive, Last.fm, or TheAudioDB. Images may be served from our cache or directly by an artwork provider, which can receive your IP address and request details. External websites are governed by the destination’s own privacy policy.

Your choices and requests

You can clear local storage and cookies through your browser’s site settings, block cookies, or use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking storage may affect saved drafts and preferences. Clearing browser data does not remove public shares, server records, or information already processed by analytics providers.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing of your personal information. Contact us to make a request, including any relevant share URL. We may need information to verify your connection to a collection. We retain shared collections and ranking records for operating these features, subject to removal requests and applicable obligations; provider logs and analytics have their own retention settings.

Children and policy changes

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has published personal information, contact us with the relevant URL. We may update this policy when features or data practices change; the date above identifies the latest version.

Privacy contact

For questions, privacy requests, or copyright concerns, contact the team at support@my9albums.app. Include the relevant collection URL when requesting removal. Please do not include sensitive personal information.
